Inadequate sleep can lead to a series of health problems. This can be from being more possible to catch a cold or added body weight that undoubtedly increased risk of rising heart disease (attack) and or diabetes.  The best health and function of the average adult would be to get 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night.

Now that New Year is around the corner; it is high time to reflect as a good time to plan workable strategy for the future of sleep for better health.

The aim of this short highlight tips is to share my planned new year resolution as a victim of less sleep to avoid greatest risk and attempt to prevent the risk. If followed with dedication these tips will surely help to better manage persistent conditions that may erode one’s quality of life. It is planned offer information to help make informed decision today for better health tomorrow.

Just like me many do have carry over sleep although some might be due to some medical complications like insomnia or fundamental condition that may demand medical attention

I hope this tips will change you and me and never to concern about recompensing the lost sleep.  All is needed is Just to make sure one always have a timely and good sleep (enough) henceforth from and starting tonight.

It is important to note that having adequate sleep is as important as eating healthy diet (food) as well engage in regular exercise.

Tips for getting the rest you need:

1   Create a sleep Asylum. Makes your room a place to sleep and quietness only. Create a good temperature. Expel smartphones or tablets, computer, television, and or any other distractions devices.

2    Sleep only when it is a must. While having a nap during sleepiness period around afternoon can support to complement missed hours of sleep last night; it can as well obstruct ability to sleep at night and negatively affects your sleep pattern. The recommended time for napping is 20-30 minutes limit.

3    Eschew caffeine from after noon. Usually Caffeine stay in the body for up to 12 hours or more

4     Regular exercise is good but avoid it within three hours of or to bedtime.

5   Fixed the time for resting down and waking up daily at the very least, on weekdays. Where necessary use weekends to compensate lost sleep.

I hope this will be like a little guide for me and you to save our sight and general health. Health is wealth and good sleep increases better health, productivity, calmness, concentration and alertness. These lead to successful delivery of assigned task. Sleep well henceforth and stay cool,

Today is my birthday; a fresh daylight has come

I pray may this year and the rest far better for me than proceeding

I plead it will be much better for others  too

And pray for more Imaan and love to humanity with devotion!

I wish you peace to all those facing difficult times

In poverty, war and hardship wherever you are..

Brothers and sisters globally to all I pray

Take my words that I wish you peace plus God blessings ever

Oh Allah (God), May the light of the day conveys needed joy and love

From twilight to dawn; my prayers you smile and live in peace

I wish you to never reach the ending of cheering life; full of sweet memories my dear

With the kindness of God increasingly plus more blessing at my side

Day by day of my life great and good   fortune unfold

With a new chapter of dreams I pursue to succeed in faith

Amazingly I wake up to say hello as clocked thirty-seven years

Appreciation to Allah widely felt and say;; with happy tears pouring

Today is my birthday and uttered prayers in my mind;

My late parent may Allah forgive you and reward what you sow

You stood by me, through loving and challenging times

They (my parent) made me, Me!

Today is my birthday; I’m delighted indeed!

My journey of life occurs with endeavors of adversities and tenderness

On this day I pray for me to absorb and practice the characters of my beloved,

The prophet Muhammad-SAW; peaceful and tolerant, full of Love to humanity

I desire heaps of love to my family and friends everywhere they are

I believed you would do the same, yet again and again as I do

I wish you a beautiful life and successes anywhere

I am now older than a day ago, but I am so happy and feeling blessed

Having you my friends is a great gift for me

Gratulations! Is the word for this day

Rest in Peace Mom, Dad and Late Emir of Borgu!

British Prime Minister David Cameroon Promote Islam in his Ramadan Speech

British  Prime Minister David Cameroon  Promote Islam in his Ramadan Speech
                                                        By
                                          Musa Abdullahi Sufi

This year 2015 Ramadan will always be remembered by Muslim who are working tirelessly day and to portray islam as a peaceful religion.  It is about a special message  from a Christians Prime Minister of Britain-United Kingdom.

The message sent a via video sound very respectful to islamic faith and Muslims. A powerful message to Muslims in Britain and around the world. Is also a message to those who are either intentionally or otherwise misunderstanding  ((hateful ideology) Islam and or Muslims.

In this islamic holy month of Ramadan 2015 , the Prime Minister David Cameron in his message to Muslims said “I’d like to send my very best wishes to everyone observing the holy month of Ramadan". Even the prime minster believe it is the holy month as he express it in the released video with sign of seriousness.

He added  "It’s a hugely important time, as Muslims in Britain and across the world mark the foundation of their faith".  The prime minister continue with his video speech saying "And as friends and families come together, in contemplation and in fasting, we are reminded of those Muslim values – those British values – of community, family and charity".

In his eloquent british accent, he passionately further speak out that "You can see them in centuries past, when Muslim soldiers served bravely alongside their comrades, from the trenches of the First World War to the skies of the Second World War". He added.

Another interesting happy revelation of truth about Islam is when the prime minister  mention Muslims as major charity giving group in Britain. He said "And you can see them today, with British Muslims giving more to charity than any other faith group in Britain, fulfilling their sacred duty of Zakat, by making a real difference to lives blighted by conflict and disaster. And with British Muslims at the top of every field, from our biggest businesses to our precious health service to our Houses of Parliament and yes, to the Cabinet I lead".

The honest and learned minister in his words said  "I’ve talked a lot about One Nation, about Britain being a country where everyone can get on, whatever their background and wherever they’re from".  And he completed by pointing out that "British Muslims embody that spirit".

During this historical and memorable speech Cameroon stated that "They (Muslims) prove that this can be a country where success is determined not by your colour, community or creed, but a place where you can go as far as talents will take you".

In concluding his historic speech the parliament lead said "So, as families, friends and communities come together at Iftar each evening, I hope all of them, and everyone else across Britain, will reflect on the universal values that Ramadan represents, and the contribution that British Muslims make to our country. Ramadan Mubarak to you all.” He closed.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims around the world welcome such great speech and there is need for more if it to support the majority of Muslims indicating Islam as a religion peace, love and forgiveness.

MTN Kanywood Award 2015: What it means for the Hausa Movie and culture

MTN Kanywood Award 2015: What it means for the Hausa Movie and culture
By
Musa Abdullahi

On the 31st January  2015, Kanywood industry marked another event in collaboration with MTN titled “MTN Kanywood award” the second of its kind.

Movie actors, actresses and all key role players in the movie industry are trooped into the Nigerian capital Abuja to another blockbuster award night in the history of this fastest quality improving-growing movie industry.

Until recently, the industry faced with much hate from public and government despite majority of viewers that include women and children as well as teeming youth.

It is indisputable fact that the Role of Hausa movie industry is enormous notwithstanding the ignorant or intentional rejection of facts from some people in the general public and professional and known political servants.

The industry generates millions of jobs and more opportunities to many jobless youths and creative minds in northern Nigeria, Nigeria and even some African countries like Ghana, Niger etc.

Some of the youth in the industry both males and females are known with terrible history dated back before joining the industry. However as they joined they were renovated with focus to achieve certain level of personal development. Some of them not only join to acting but also end up into acting and singing. A creativity most of them not aware they possessed until they took part.

Although it might also be the other way round but the industry also contribute greatly in saving a number of marriages from separation and divorce. There are several stories that couple involved and getting tired of themselves and even thinking of separation but a certain movie depicted similar scenario that thought lesson to both and solution generated as they realized is not everyone fault among them. Such examples were sited at a number of times by beneficiaries.

Apart from entertainment enjoyed by Kanywood fans it also provides opportunities and improve relationship. It is expected, in a long-term the cheering moment created by comedy films in the industry can improve healthy life. More especially during this worrying time such movies are hitting many people screen. I must admit the fallen hero in this category will be missed and non-replaceable character (Alhaji Rabilu Musa-Dan Ibro) may his soul rest in perfect peace Ameen.

Looking at the country social profile, Kanywood movies are one of the strategies that do compete with the Nollywood (southern part movie makers or Nigerian filmmakers). Although, the Hausa Movie industry aged Kanywood as “Turmin Danya” from Kanywood was produced around 1990 while Nollywood around 1991 or 1992 produced the “living in Bondage”. Also, despite lack of support to the industry of Kanywood, the Nollywood enjoy comprehensive and strategic support from various sources that include, companies, government to mention but few.

Although various issues remain silent in the society and it continue eating up the social system negatively. The movie industry exposes the maltreatment between couples and cheating in order to understand and avoid such in the society. Due to globalization and modernization, the Hausa language can also be sustained through the movie; as it will contribute to support helping in restoring the language as well as attracting many non Hausa speaking people to have interest in the Hausa language.

Despite some of the highlights mentioned, the industry is facing some challenges that need to be fully reviewed to come up with the solutions for the betterment of the industry.

There is Lack or inadequate proper support from government, institution and related to the industry. Inadequate training and short course for most of the practitioners. Plagiarism and piracy is eating up the industry and Poor funding for the industry

The industry doesn’t not seems to be encouraging volunteering, speaking for the must vulnerable in the society. The society Lacks capacity on the art of watching film and the need to create awareness for films to enlighten public on film for adults, children, adults and children and the type that children needs guide from adults.

There is no comprehensive data available and accessible for the number of filmmakers and related practitioners for proper planning and understanding the strength of the industry.

The industry various rivalry issues at individual and group levels aided the lack of unified focus (despite some effort made) that separate followers including artists and crew.  Some stories are good but rushing to write or produce affects the quality and message strongly. Marketing situation of the industry still at infant stage, that needs effective guide using practical and international experiences.

However, some of the recommendations that should be considered should be more support like that of Kano state government fort creating film institute. Improve more collaboration like recent Kanywood and India for training. Improvement on technical aspect of productions is necessary. There should be more consultation if for example want to depict village life then a better understanding on how they are, lived and how to act like real from script to shooting must be real. Experts should review the story and the script before filming and after filming.
Note that It doesn’t matter how long but effective and adequate planning for number of days should be a priority to avoid rushing up from filming to editing. Also, strategic policy with government support to punish offenders on piracy is very vital. Current artists and filmmakers must be encourage and prioritize into the enrollment to film institute initiated by Kano state government and other opportunities related. Furthermore, opportunities of collaboration between the country or state needs to engage with more committed persons in the industry.

Very importantly, some of the artists and filmmakers must display good character wherever they are. Remember, an artist is a role model and someone with a possibility to be defaming at any moment.  It affects not only the person intentionally or unknowingly displayed it but the majority of the innocent are also generalized with it.

This award indicated unity on diversity for Nigeria. The number of non Hausa speaking and aside entertainment beautify the clourful set up of the awArd.

The best popular Actor mentioned was Ali Nuhu, best supporting actress Fati Washa, best supporting actor Mustapha Naburaska, best actor Sadiq sani and best actresses Hadiza Aliyu Gabon. Late Musa Dan Ibro bags 2 award.

Various government, traditional and officials at state and Federal government graced the occasion. Among them  that include late emir of kano, emir of gumel, deputy Vice President, Nassarawa state governor, MTN, etc.

Today, Kanywood industry sprawl global and one of the last producing films per month with thousands of beneficiaries directly or indirectly. It is evidence that the industry needs the support of traditional, government, religious and traditional leaders as well as professionals.

It is the same industry that will now sell out and speak on the Hausa beautiful traditions and culture for sustainability and generated respect for the people. But this only comes when more hands are on desk.

Conclusively, the award showcased and acknowledge the efforts of this group of personality in the industry.  Lastly, is my sympathy message to Ali Nuhu over the destiny of armed robbers that attacked him last night. May Allah continue to protect us and bring the double of what is lost.
